The Sky is Crying pattern sales generated $10 for Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Galveston-Houston. The Sky is Crying was inspired by the music of Stevie Ray Vaughan and a stormy spring night. Crocheted in the round, it is a light cowl with a nice drape. The lace pattern is easy to remember - just one motif swirling around and around - no need to even worry about where the end of round is. Skill level: intermediate - requires sc with a foundation chain, working in the round Yarn requirements: 400-500 yards of fingering weight yarn, either in a mini-skein set or a gradient dyed yarn. Choose a yarn with a nice drape, such as a merino/nylon or merino/silk blend. Using less yarn will result in a finished cowl that is less deep.
